AMS8936 a rare Carlo & Arthur Giuliano pendant, original fitted case
beautifully enamelled in distinctive Giuliano style with a crescent shaped border of natural pearls around a crystal compartment that can be opened, makers mark Carlo & Arthur Giuliano with fitted case from C&A Giuliano.
Carlo Joseph and Arthur Alphonse Giuliano were the sons of Carlo Giuliano who came from Italy in 1860 to found a jewellery manufactory business which in 1874 became also a retail business in Piccadilly. When Carlo Snr died in 1895 his sons continued the business under the name Carlo & Arthur Giuliano. In 1911/12 they moved to 48 Knightsbridge, SW London where they continued until the death of Arthur in 1914 -

€4,950.00Paperclip link chain with tapered barrel beads and a central sautoir pendant with diamonds and natural pearls. Beads are elongated and feature opaque white enamel and blue guilloche enamel stripes. Transparent and glossed over an engraved radial pattern. Makers mark for Henry Blank & Co.
Founded as N.E Whiteside in 1890, Henry Blank joined in 1903 becoming Whiteside & Blank and then Henry Blank & Co. Makers mark of a C with an arrow through it was used from the beginning. Henry Blank had travelled to Europe to study and conduct business with watch movement manufacturers, and returned to America on board the Titanic, surviving the sinking in 1912 -

A hard stone cameo of exceptional quality, depicting a Bacchante (female follower of the Roman god of wine, Bacchus – also known as a Maenad in Greek mythology, a follower of Dionysus the Greek god of wine)shown carrying a Thyrsus – a staff tipped with a pine cone or ivy – dancing in the abandonment of ecstatic frenzy. Exceptionally fine rope motif in a high carat gold mount with a heavier rope gold mount terminating in ram’s heads. The brooch fitting can be unscrewed to be worn on a chain.
