Jean Fouquet (1899-1964),highly collectable:
From 1860 until 1936, three successive generations of Fouquet would make a considerable contribution to the world of fine jewellery – each creating spectacular pieces representative of their respective eras.

Alphonse Fouquet founded Maison Fouquet and was joined by his son George Fouquet exhibiting at the Exhibition Universalle in 1878 and 1900 with fabulous Art Nouveau pieces. Jean Fouquet joined the business and exhibited for the first time at the 1925 fair. He became recognized as one the innovators and foremost practitioners of the Art Moderne style – bold forms, geometric lines, abstract shapes and the use of contrasting metals won him international recognition. Maison Fouquet ceased trading in 1936, after the 1929 crash, but Jean Fouquet continued to work and collaborate independently, creating wonderful and individual pieces of fine jewellery. He became lecturer at the L’École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs and both his and his father’s work have been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum
