Phyllis MacNamara was delighted to be asked by Sotheby’s to catalogue and introduce The Garech Browne Collection of Claddagh Rings for this sale, a collection of 23 very rare antique Claddagh rings from the 18th and 19th centuries, many by Galway makers. Such a collection will likely never be seen again and it was a great honour, and acknowledgement, to be asked to advise Sotheby’s on their history and sale.
