AMS8936 a rare Carlo & Arthur Giuliano pendant, original fitted case

beautifully enamelled in distinctive Giuliano style with a crescent shaped border of natural pearls around a crystal compartment that can be opened, makers mark Carlo & Arthur Giuliano with fitted case from C&A Giuliano.
Carlo Joseph and Arthur Alphonse Giuliano were the sons of Carlo Giuliano who came from Italy in 1860 to found a jewellery manufactory business which in 1874 became also a retail business in Piccadilly. When Carlo Snr died in 1895 his sons continued the business under the name Carlo & Arthur Giuliano. In 1911/12 they moved to 48 Knightsbridge, SW London where they continued until the death of Arthur in 1914
