Absolutely superb double gas pipe collar in 18ct gold weighing 100.5gms, stamped with French left facing Mercury head for 18ct gold, partial makers mark likely Andre Vassort, circa 1960. Very elegant and stylish.
André Vassort was a master French jeweller renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and refined artistry, which made him a coveted collaborator for some of the most prestigious maisons, including Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier amongst others but also a recognised master goldsmith in his own right with his pieces collected and coveted similarly to those of goldsmiths such as Georges and Jacques L’Enfant.
